2020-21 Season Wrap-up

We hope that everyone has been staying safe, healthy and strong during this uncertain and stressful time. The sudden and unfortunate ending to the 2020-21 NorthStar Youth Hockey League season is certainly not how we had hoped it would finish up on the ice this season. However, our top priority is the safety of all the team’s players, their families and our staff which in the end resulted in the cancellation of this season’s playoffs.

At this time, we'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the teams, their players & coaches that participated in the league this past season. We're excited to announce & congratulate the teams that finished the regular season in the top spot in their respective division. Each player & coach from these teams will receive a plaque to recognize their hard work and accomplishment this past season.

About the Season

The NYHL will host two different U8/Mite offerings for the 2020-21 season. All Games for both divisions are played 4 vs 4 in a Half Ice format with Intermediate sized nets for goalies and Blue pucks. Half Ice games are (2) 25 minute running time periods. The "Mite" division will offer a (25) game regular season followed by playoffs. All Mite teams will qualify for the playoffs which is a single elimination format (1 game minimum). The "Mite Development" division will offer a (22) game regular season followed by playoffs. Both divisions follow the USA Hockey ADM guidelines.
